View packagingHow do I choose dessert packaging boxes?
Begin with the number, footprint and height of the portions. A slice pack supports one cut portion, a tray holds a row or assortment, and a window carton may use cavity inserts or dividers. Check frosting clearance and access for removal, then review the filled pack through the intended service routine.

Select the layout before the outer decoration
Place the largest and tallest portions in the proposed arrangement first. Check that each item can be removed without disturbing its neighbor.
A practical fit check
A six-piece assortment with different pastry widths needs a layout trial; six equal compartments may not match the actual menu.
Compare the available formats
| Format | When to compare it | Key checks |
|---|---|---|
| Cake Slice Boxes | Single-slice packaging should follow the portion angle and keep toppings clear of the cover. Compare the rear height, widest edge and any sleeve or utensil added to the pack. | Slice angle, Rear topping height, Sleeve and fork space |
| Clear Lid Dessert Trays | Clear-lid trays show individual pastries or a shared assortment. Compare usable internal space, tray depth and lid engagement; dividers and sleeves change the available footprint. | Tray layout, Lid shoulder, Base rigidity |
| Mini Cake Containers | Mini containers suit individual round desserts and small presentations. A dome has different clearance at the center and near its shoulder, so the dessert profile matters. | Base footprint, Dome shoulder, Closing engagement |
| Egg Tart Boxes | Window egg tart cartons balance product visibility with space for branding. Determine the portion count, tart diameter and liner before approving the footprint. | Tart spacing, Window position, Packing conditions |
| Window Bakery Boxes | Window cartons combine printable paper panels with a view of the contents. Choose the insert, handle or sleeve around the actual assortment and opening direction. | Window view, Insert layout, Loading access |
When to consider another structure
Whole cakes need a supported board and clearance around the full decoration. Compare cake boxes.
